Research

Applied Research.
Tangible Outcomes.

Our research focus continually evolves to address current ocean conservation and fisheries management needs. Broadly, it includes studying the ecology of marine megafauna, developing new technologies or combining existing ones to address management and conservation priorities, improving our understanding of shark behaviour in the context of human-shark interactions, and providing ecological information to assist in fisheries management. We also specialise in facilitating expeditions to remote areas often logistically difficult to access.

Conducting critical research, together

Independent Projects

Our team conducts independent research, leading projects that we get funded to undertake.

Government & Industry Supported Projects

Government departments and industry partners fund our undertaking of specific projects that align with their interests, needs and vision for our ocean’s future.

Collaborative Projects

We collaborate with academic institutions, government departments, non-government organisations (NGOs), other foundations and industry partners to conduct research that is mutually beneficial.

Current Projects & Publications

Members of our research team have contributed to more than 150 published journal articles to date. The findings of this research provide critical insights into some of the most pressing areas of ocean ecology, conservation and management.
